On Sunday, May 27, Charleston was greeted with three surprise performances by some of the best tango dancers in SC. At Old City Market, 20 dancers made the terrace in front of Cafe Paradiso their stage as visitors to the city for the annual Spoleto Festival wandered through the market. Dancers included Yelena Bibik, Ivan Bolshakov, Tanya Bolshakova, Ken Broom, Roger Prevost, Zenaida Broom, Suzanne Krebsbach, Alex Moore, Nicole Lavallee, Anna Maria Ford, Marina Mironova, Lucy Gordon, Carolyn Moss, Sonia Jacobson, Don Rosenezro, Marcia Klingensmith, Susan Weeks, Clint Rauscher, Jerrin Kesterson, Sailor Yumi and many more. Pocket Productions has worked with over 30 organizations, including the Columbia Museum of Art, the Columbia Classical Ballet, the SC Philharmonic, and the Palmetto Conservation Foundation.
Did you know that the first ArtRageous event was funded by the Arts Institute and the Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties? Since this initial event, we have brought over 20 spontaneous events to the City of Columbia and Richland County that engage the general public with art.
