Help construct a large piece of public artwork in Riverfront Park May 8-11.
4pm-7pm Tuesday through Thursday (other times available)
We need at least 20 people per day to help Khaldoune Bencheikh, community artist, to create the next in his series. The piece is made from natural materials and when complete, is a feeder for birds and other animals who make the park their home. This work of art will be a part of the collaborative opening of Art on the Trail, a statewide series of environmental art along the Palmetto Tail, on May 11 (free to the public).

This spring, Pocket Productions will give another gift to the Columbia community. "Buskers" will extend from
March 25 through June 1, and will
culminate with a street performance by an imminent group of classical
musicians. The series
features musicians in public places who appear to be busking but take no
tips;
instead the performers will have a sign that says "please take
generously," along with information about this exciting series.
The
sign, stools and table were designed by artist Michael Krajewski. The first installation happened on March 25 at several shops around Harbison Blvd. Artist Tim Costello played his accordion. To find out more about this series, see the ArtRageous project "Buskers"

brought over 20 spontaneous events to the City of Columbia and Richland
County that engage the general public with art.
